Road Closure of the bridge over the River Nidd - Monday 15th March

Published: 12 March 2021

Repairs are being made to the bridge over the River Nidd in Pateley Bridge with a road closure planned for Monday 15th March between 9.30am and 3.30pm.

North Yorkshire County Council have advised that there are 2 parts to the bridge repairs:
• The first part is the fixing of the stonework on the bridge and this is being done under temporary traffic lights this week.
• The next stage is to fix the damaged timber on the pedestrian footpath. The team need a specialist vehicle that uses an access platform to get the engineers underneath the bridge as they need to unbolt the damaged timber sections from the bridge and then connect the new sections of timber. Therefore we need to put in place a full road closure on Monday 15/3/21 between 09:30 to 15:30 to protect the team and keep residents safe.
Diversionary boards will be in place to guide road uses around this closure.
